As customers with access to the best digital tools banking has to offer, you have the power to monitor and control your spending without ever coming into a branch. With card management embedded directly within the Anywhere app, you can lock and unlock your debit card, set alerts on spending, and block specific types of transactions – allowing you to budget more and limit fraud loss by easily monitoring your accounts.

Lock and Unlock Cards

Can’t find your wallet, but haven’t had a chance to look around for it? Temporarily pause spending by locking and unlocking your card on the app. Navigate from the dashboard to “Card Management” and select the card you’d like to freeze. From there, you can toggle the card on and off. This doesn’t cancel the card permanently, and recurring transactions like Netflix or Amazon Prime will still go through.

Report Cards Lost or Stolen

If you’ve retraced your steps with no luck and your card is lost for good, click “Report lost or stolen” to start the process of canceling your card permanently. You’ll need to call us to order a new card, or stop by your local branch and have one printed for you on the spot.

Block or Notify of Transactions

Want to be notified of certain charges that take place using your debit card? This is a great setting for budget management, or for customers who may share an account with their children and want to monitor spending. From Card Management, select “Alerts and protections”. You can set notifications for any and all card activity, or set parameters like when cash is withdrawn from an ATM, how often the card is being used to eat out, be notified of international purchases, and more. If you want to block certain transaction types altogether, just check the “Block transactions” column instead of “Send notification”.

Set Spending Limits and Alerts

Sometimes, you just need to put a cap on spending – regardless of transaction type. Under “Alerts and protections”, click “Spending limits”. Choose what you want your transaction limits to be, or just set an alert for activity over a certain dollar amount. Scroll down, and you can set one limit for the entire month. This is a great option to monitor spending on a single debit card connected to your account.

At First National Bank, we believe you should have the power to navigate your spending no matter where you are. And the best way to learn is to practice! Use our Anywhere digital suite in the app or on the web and control your debit card usage with card management.
